Wi-RAN is an extensible communications platform and can form a base for on-board entertainment and infrastructure applications. In our current release, we have outfitted our Wi-RANs with GPS receivers, enabling the Jitney to see the current and past locations of each vehicle in the fleet. A Bluetooth interface is also deployed to support the mobile payment system provided by our joint venture partner Best Mobile Computing. The video accompanying this post is played before every departure on each Wi-RAN equipped coach. As a marketing tool, there are several options available, including, but not limited to, placement in a walled web garden, and sponsored complimentary internet access. Additional creative suggestions are always welcome.
Wi-RAN supports remote updates of its software, and can be customized to fit your fleet's particular needs for telematics, entertainment, and business process needs.
